Your neighbourhood hunting ground

Let's face it, special events are just plain fun. Invite a gaggle of women, sprinkle some cupcakes about the room, serve some bubbly, and bring together a handful of local female entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses... you've got yourself a ball.

Chasse Gardée, one of my favourite shoe/accessory stores in Toronto, played host for the evening, and Biko Jewellery, along with several others (such as DaLish Cosmetics), brought their wares.

And what's an event without Momma Biko out to support. Yup, that's me with my proud momma.

Canadian, Eh

I get asked about the spelling of jewellery fairly often, as I AM in the business of designing and creating it, after all. To be honest, I never know which spelling to use. In writing to an American, I fear that spelling it the 'real' English way would throw them off, but I would never dare to use the American version, 'jewelry', amongst Canadians or Brits. Must I continue catering to those I speak with directly, or is there a way to set in stone the spelling of my choice, never wavering from it?
